Towards a Theory Based Identification of Influencing: Factors for the Design of Mobile Services

The planning and development process of mobile services is highly dynamic due to emerging technologies and a high speed of innovation. In the planning process a comprehensive analysis of the relevant influencing factors on the design of mobile services is necessary. As a fundamental basis, there is a need for a scientific discussion about how to identify a balanced set of relevant influencing factors. This paper examines the contribution of different scientific approaches for a systematic identification of influencing factors. By combining different scientific approaches a theory based classification is derived in a two step process. The classification is evaluated using an inductive procedure. The paper shows that with a few specific constraints taken into consideration a theory based identification of influencing factors is applicable.
